There are lots of outdoor activities in the summer - lake swimming, cycling, walking, canoeing, horse riding, bird watching and many more. Sweden has a 'right of public access' so you can explore almost anywhere on foot, cycle or horse.

Winter activities include ice skating and skiing, both downhill and cross-country. There are several locations nearby for snowsports and, as the Swedes are rather keen on ice skaing and hockey, most of the local towns also have an ice rink.
